Privacy statement

This statement applies to cardiotherapeuticupdates.org and to every site in the Cardio Therapeutic Updates collection that uses the shared member account, listed on the Sites page. It was last updated on 4 September 2026.

Who is responsible

Cardio Therapeutic Updates is an initiative of K Enterprises B.V. and Lemmid B.V. The two companies are jointly responsible for the personal data described here. Your point of contact for anything in this statement is Lemmid B.V., Dalsteindreef 164, 1102 WX Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

What we collect

When you register for an account we ask for your e-mail address, first name and last name, and optionally your profession and your organisation or hospital. We also record the site on which you registered, the date, and the fact that you gave your consent.

When you visit our sites our web server keeps a standard access log: the page requested, the date and time, your IP address, the browser and device type, and the page you came from. We keep no other visitor data, we set no tracking cookies and we use no third-party analytics or advertising scripts.

When you log in your browser stores a session token so that you stay logged in. It lives in your browser only and expires by itself.

What we use it for

• To run your account: registration, the confirmation e-mail, logging in and out, and answering your questions.
• To send you the Cardio Therapeutic Updates newsletter: a round-up of the evidence, trials, guidelines and education published on our sites, and news about the collection itself. We send it on the basis of the consent you gave when you registered.
• To tailor what we show you: your profession lets us put the evidence for your specialty first, on the sites and in the newsletter.
• To understand how the sites are used: the access logs are analysed in aggregate (pages, days, countries, devices), never to follow an individual.
• To keep the sites safe: the access logs help us detect abuse and errors.

We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to profile you beyond the profession you chose to tell us.

Newsletters and sponsors

Our sites may carry educational programmes or sections provided by third parties, and the collection may be sponsored. Sponsors receive aggregate figures only, such as how many members read a section. A sponsor never receives your name, e-mail address or any other personal data unless you give it to them yourself, for instance by registering for their programme on their own site.

Where the data is kept

Your data is stored on servers of the Lemmid Platform in the European Union (Germany) and is processed by Lemmid B.V. in the Netherlands. Confirmation and newsletter e-mails are sent from our own mail servers in the European Union. We use no processors outside the European Economic Area.

How long we keep it

Your account and the data in it are kept for as long as you are a member. You can end your membership at any time; we then delete your account within thirty days. Access logs are kept for at most twelve months.

Your rights

You have the right to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable form. You can withdraw your consent to the newsletter at any time; every newsletter carries an unsubscribe link, and withdrawing consent does not affect what was done before. To exercise any of these rights, write to the contact address above. If you believe we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Cookies and local storage

Our sites set no third-party cookies. The only data stored in your browser is your login session and, where a site offers it, your display preference (such as a light or dark theme). Both are set by us and readable only by our sites.

Changes

We update this statement when our sites or our practices change. The date at the top tells you when. Substantial changes are announced in the newsletter.
